Tartarugle de Chocolato - Chocolate Turtle - 10 oz

We remember as students in New Orleans, waiting for the bell to ring on Friday so we could go the the bakery and get our favorite turtle cookies at “McKenzies Bakery”. We would start dreaming about them on Thursday and counting the hours…. As an adult we would travel back to New Orleans to visit family and order 25-30 dozen Turtle Cookies to take home and split amongst the family members. We just couldn’t get enough of them… we were obsessed!! For years, we tried numerous recipes and to no avail, they were not the same texture, flavor or crispness. It was time to make our own version, the Tartarugle de Chocolato! A buttery and pecan ladened cookie with a rich bittersweet fudge topping!
